For Act II, Diana White choreographed “Arabian” and reimagined Mother Ginger (danced by Rosemary Saur) as a baker, with her gingerbread children popping out from the stove. Andrei Kisselev choreographed “Russian.” Alain Vaes painted “Matryoshka” and the other beautiful set pieces.

For this production, I created a new solo for the Russian boy, and rehearsed Russian, Chinese, Arabian and Marzipan. Snow I rechoreographed a little to replace the pas de deux with a solo.

These are my photos from Scarsdale Ballet’s dress rehearsal on December 20, 2021 at the Tarrytown Music Hall, Tarrytown, NY.
